Very rare to find nowadays Also known as a box iron, this rare example contains 2 ‘slugs’ which would be heated on the range then placed inside the iron Hand forged cast iron with heat resistant turned wooden insert handle The sliding gate mechanism which exposes the “slug” fits perfectly Damage to wooden handle as photo but it’s not loose This one has a decorative stand with a heart cutout
