The central panel bears the initials “T.S.” and the date 1690. Panelled sides and top. The lid is secured with wire hinges, and the chest is constructed using pinned mortise and tenon joints. While later William and Mary pieces moved toward lighter proportions, this example retains the weight and grounded character associated with earlier oak traditions.
