Here is a Rare JUGENDSTIL/ ART NOUVEAU Tankard/Pitcher with lid and adorned with Lotus Flowers, by CARL DEFFNER of Esslingen, Germany, ca.1900. Deftner was one of the companies that really made new design in the Jugendstil. This particular pitcher is exceptionally beautiful. It is adorned with lotus leaves and lotus flowers reaching upwards. The pitcher is silver electroplate on copper and is stamped by the company’s mark CDE. The offered item was designed and produced circa 1900 and considering its age, this item is in great condition.
