This is an exceptional bronze originally sculpted by Jean-Baptiste Auguste Clesinger (1814-1883) It depicts combat de taureaux romains (a pair of sparring bulls) & measures 25cm long x 13cm high x 9cm deep. This genuine hot cast bronze is very finely detailed and has a lovely rich patina.Although it bears the signature of Clesinger this is not an original of his work but is a modern reproduction This is a genuine hot cast bronze finished on a solid marble base, do not confuse this with cheap 'cold cast' resin bronzes The original from which this bronze was inspired from was part of the substantial private art collection owned by the Hollywood actor Jack Palance up until the time of his death in 2006 Please visit my ebay shop where i have many more animalier bronzes available for sale.
