Stunning bronze sculpture depicting Mercury or Hermes the Greek Messenger God. Height 22cm. The green solid marble base is oval in shape & measures 15.5cmm x 11cm The bronze has an exquisite patina and is finished off on a solid marble base. The rear of the bronze bears the signature GIAMBOLOGNA however this piece is not an original of his work but is a modern reproduction Giambologna, born as Jean Boulogne (1529 – 13 August 1608), was a sculptor, known for his marble and bronze statuary in a late Renaissance or Mannerist style.
