Bronze sculpture Charles Gabriel Sauvage LEMIRE (1741-1827), Bronze with golden patina. No base, representing children reading. Dimensions : 10x 11cm Bronze sculpture representing the figure of a little boy sitting reading. The infant concentrated in his reading has a small toga knotted to the shoulder of clear classical inspiration in the same way as the ribbon that holds his curly hair. The delicacy of the carving and the subject itself show the taste of the period, when the development of the bourgeoisie led to the proliferation of these small figures.
