Attractive decorative plaque,Victorian/ Edwardian, in bronze. Depicting a central figure of a goddess surrounded by the Four Elements, a copy of an original charger sculpted in pewter by Francois Briot in the 1500s ( the same image forms the central part of the Venus Rosewater Dish awarded for the Ladies singles at Wimbledon ) It was originally part of a tazza or table decoration, hence the mounting which protrudes 2cm on the rear.
