The four-part ensemble is made of polished brass and impresses with a uniform, naturalistic décor of mistletoe branches, whose white berries and green leaves are finished in fine enamel work. The centerpiece is the inkwell on a curved, kidney-shaped base, which is equipped with a white porcelain insert on the inside and has “AUSTRIA” embossed on the bottom. The flowing shapes and organic lines of the metal objects harmonize perfectly with the floral ornamentation and make this set a high-quality testament to the Wiener Werkstätten era or comparable manufacturers of that era.
