Astronomical manuscript Handschrift sundial astronomy instrument drawings 1720

£698.69

(France) ca. 1720. 7 loose leaves [ca. 34 x 22 cm]. With 10 ink drawings, partly with some coloring. With a list (table of contents?) at the end of the manuscript, entitled „Primage de Constantinople“. Very interesting early 18th century manuscript on how to build a sundial in the city of La Ciotat, in Southern France, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. It explains the process of building the sundial through precise instructions and detailed drawings. A sundial is an early horological device that tells the time by the movements of the sun's light on a flat surface during the day.
