This is an antique hand made Victorian foot stool which appears to be made from walnut with a wool upholstered cushion top. It is in worn but good, complete condition. This stool is 27cm in diameter and has a lovely crafted wooden surround ending in three feet. The base is held on by a large wooden central screw and block. This has obviously been reupholstered multiple times during its near 150 years, with lots of tack holes visible around the circumference of the cushion’s wooden base. It presently has a woollen cover which I’m assuming was added sometime during the mid 20th century. It appears to have older upholstery underneath, but I do not wish to remove the present cover to examine it. It could be a real treat, who knows.
