Rare Victorian gutta percha mirror. Gutta percha is a natural occurring rubber substance that molds to wood when heated and hardens when it cools. The structure of this frame is wood with gutta percha on the front. There are two small areas where the material has been chipped off. The mirror silvering is aging. This could be made into a photo frame. 12" x 16" with a ledge at the bottom. Beautiful antique piece -- one of a kind.
