Antique late Victorian English silver-plated decorative embossed swing handle repoussé basket by James Deakin & Sons of Sheffield, circa 1888. Beautiful ornate floral repoussé decoration with pedestal foot and swing handle. Lovely decorative piece for tablescaping, fruit display, wedding décor or cottagecore interiors. Silverplate with some minor age-related wear/patina consistent with age (visible in pics). Hallmarked at base including JD&S stamp, EPNS and makers mark (which is a bell), pattern number 0 131 (which dates it exactly to 1888), and the W mark which means it was made in Sheffield. It weighs 532g.
