Ebonised and decorated throughout with crisp incised gilt detail, the top swivels and folds open to reveal a baize-lined playing surface with a red and gilt-tooled border. English, circa 1880. The top has been carefully cleaned back from a later painted finish and the original line decoration has been carefully repainted following the original design.
