A good day & night telescope in full working order, note the main barrel which is not the usual coloured mahogany, maybe a fruitwood, whatever it is it sets itself apart from the normal run of the mill look. making it an unusual display piece and perfectly usable if you wish. A large and important instrument fully 38 inches extended including the sun shield covering the main lens. Dating to 1820-1850. As well as the extending sun shield it also has a sliding dust cover to the eye piece. Made by J Walker of London.
