An authentic late 18th to early 19th century European silk embroidery. Depicting a pastoral allegorical scene with figures, sheep, and flowering trees. Hand-embroidered in silk floss on a silk ground, later sympathetically reframed behind non-reflective glass in a lovely dark wood bobbin frame. Age related wear to the silk. I don’t think this started life behind glass and that’s why it is showing marks and fading to the fabric. Frame is in good condition with minimal marks. Approx. 60 × 52 cm overall. Frame 2.4kgs Parcel force delivery due to large parcel.
