This beautiful buckle features an ornate scrolling foliate pattern and is hallmarked on the front right with SJ for Samuel Jacobs, The lion touchmark designating Sterling, the leopard head touch mark as the London assay, and a lower case d denoting an 1899 production date. Buckle measures 5” long, 3” wide and with a weight of 2.664 ozt or 82.80 grams. Reverse has an impressed H perhaps denoting ownership.
