The piece is then signed in Russian to the front as well as the back left corner. I believe the piece to be by Vassili Yacovlevitch Grachev (Russian, 1831-1905). On the base it is signed in Russian: "Lep.Grachev" (Lepil Grachev,, in English: "sculpted Grachev" and Russian foundry mark "Zav. ).
