Made of pine this trunk would date from the late 19th century. The trunk has a red stained finish that was not uncommon in this era and retains its original iron handles to each end. Useful for all sorts of things this trunk being more decorative than most would lend itself well to being a bedroom blanket box or hallway boot box.
