Incredible item! Believed to be a ceremonial piece used in processions, this own is filled with small metal beads that allow it to rattle when shaken. Unsure of exact metal composition, but non-metallic. Welded seam where the tail meets the body. Hand engraved symbols- body of fish features a Cross on one side and a Dove in flight on other, while the tail features Praying Hands on one side, and a Church Building on reverse. Very nice condition, with moderate to heavy patina that I made no attempt to clean or polish. Small, intentional pin- holes present to aidv in volume when in use. Please see pics for further description and condition.
