An early Edwardian possibly Victorian deed box 34 x 34 x 56 cm with heavy solid cast metal handles (later ones have only wire handles) and folded and welded seams with a functioning lock and key made by famed locksmiths Chubb & Son. Some rust inside but a lovely patina overall and the paint has kept its shine. Would be ideal as a hope chest or memory store.
