A high-quality antique pewter cream jug by the prestigious Mappin & Webb of Sheffield. This beautiful piece dates to approximately 1890–1910, making it over 100 years old. It features a classic baluster shape and a decorative gadrooned ribbed base. The underside is clearly stamped with the official "Mappin & Webb Sheffield" maker’s mark and the firm's specific "3-Star QUALITY" stamp, which was their guarantee of premium-grade pewter. The jug has a deep, natural charcoal patina consistent with its age. There is noticeable age related surface pitting and oxidation on the handle and the body - see photos.
