Wonderful large silver forks made by French silversmith Louis Loyer. Each measures 8 inches and weighs 2.86 Troy ounces and the pattern is Thread and Shell. I am selling these individually. Dating to the late 1800s. Louis Loyer operated in Paris until 1922. I am selling a collection which dates to pre 1900. There is a coat of arms on the back of the spoon. It reads ‘Sapienter et Audacter’which translates as Wisely and Boldly’ and is the motto of the Koch de Gooreynd family. Please look at my other pieces from this amazing set!
