Antique Japanese Wooden Shinto Statue in Zushi Shrine Box SUGAWARA MICHIZANE

£213.54

"This is an exquisite antique Japanese wooden statue housed within a traditional portable shrine known as a Zushi. The interior of the shrine is finished in a striking red color, which provides a beautiful contrast to the dark, aged wood of the statue. The figure is depicted wearing traditional Japanese court robes (Sokutai) and holding a ceremonial folding fan or tablet (Shaku). This iconography suggests it represents a Shinto Deity or a historical aristocrat, possibly Tenjin (Sugawara no Michizane), the deity of learning." ・Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. ・These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up - do not confuse them.
