A nice 17th century Italian armorial embroidery with metallic thread having 3 swords in center on a velvet field. There are 3 hilts of a sword clearly present with outline stitching of there blades still seen. These patches were made and applied to banners and tapestries during the Baroque period, both primarily by the Spanish and Italians. It is in good condition overall with typical wear from age and handling, some thread losses and areas of heavy wear to fabric. Please see all photos for condition and measurements.
