An Illuminated painting on vellum sheet with Christ at the Column against a Renaissance style background, 17th century Spanish or Italian school. The roundel in the upper right shows Christ with two Roman soldiers, the clock showing Christ’s time of death at 3pm. It is well rendered and ready for display. Good condition for age with general wear to surface of page from use, some toning, some slight paint wear in areas, etc. It is housed in a wood frame behind an acrylic sheet, frame with areas of stain loss and scattered marks.
