The 'Hound of Alcibiades' otherwise known as the ‘Molossian Hound’ or the ‘Jennings Dog’ is based on a Roman copy in marble of a Hellenistic bronze statue of a large dog. Italy, circa 1850. The hound is sitting upon a yellow siena marble plinth, with red veins.
