Small size, fine quality 19th Century Grand Tour patinated bronze architectural model of the L'Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Superbly cast and wonderfully detailed with a deep brown patination. Built to commemorate French soldiers that had died in the Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars, the imposing arch, completed in 1836 under the rule of Louis Phillipe, became a highlight stop for individuals on the Grand Tour in the second half of the 19th century. Good example of an increasingly difficult to find Grand Tour model. French, c. 1870. H 11cm x W 13cm x D 10cm Condition commensurate with age. Selling from personal collection. Rest assured I have 100% positive feedback. Please view all pictures carefully.
