Handsome early 19th.c. French burr walnut commode or chest of drawers c.1830. Particularly attractive pale grey marble top over a chest of four drawers. With a slimmer overhanging top drawer over three larger drawers with large decorative brass handles and escutcheon plates. Symmetrically arranged burr walnut veneers to the drawer fronts. Flanked with a pair of columns standing separate from the cabinet, also burr walnut veneered. Solid mahogany sides. Raised on tall walnut veneered block feet. For some reason there is a slight wave (running front to back) to the stone top. Otherwise very good colour and condition. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
