A beautiful piece which is in pretty good antique condition. With the odd small mark in places. The hand carved shell back is formed from 4 pieces of mahogany, which are joined at the back at the top, by a metal plate. There is a small split to the top edge (see last picture) where the metal plate is screwed in. A small screw was inserted towards the back of the seat to help secure it, it can be see from the side as it was not done very well, see 2nd and 3rd to last pictures.
