Antique Victorian era large standing alter crucifix made from cast iron, it is characterized by a blackened cross with a rounded tiered base and gilded Corpus Christi (body of Christ). There is a gilded INRL plaque to the top and a gilded scull and cross bones beneath Christ’s feet. There is heavy patina to the cast iron (please see photos) which is to be expected with the age of the item, also there is a nail missing from Christ’s left hand. Would make a really nice display piece. Circa late 1800s. Sourced in Belgium. Approx height 55m, approx width 19cm, approx depth 10cm.
