This is a superb and rare to find Antique Bentwood Bauhaus Folding Chair, likely made by Thonet, c1910. Thonet was a German-Austrian cabinet maker known for the invention of bentwood furniture. Whilst factories produced furniture in Germany during the mid to late 1800’s Thonet expanded and opened a factory in Warsaw in 1881 which operated until about 1918 when the factories were destroyed in the First World War.
