Cool hand-carved ball and claw leg, most likely from a footstool. Has a metal tack on the bottom to protect the foot, and remnants of the woven fabric and upholstery tacks on the top section. Not sure of the wood - may be mahogany or ?? There is wear to the front claw as visible in the photos, along with the typical wear and tear one would expect on a great old piece. Would make a great shelf bracket!
