An antique Arts & Crafts wooden trinket box featuring a repoussé pewter overlay and a central abalone shell inlay. The embossed pewter has been tacked onto a solid wood base with decorative brass rivets. The stylized floral and foliate scrolling motifs, combined with an organic shell centerpiece, are classic hallmarks of the Ruskin style jewelry and decorative boxes from this era. In good vintage condition, although there is some scuffing to the top, where the oxidised patina has worn off. Please see the photos. 13 x 9.5cm wide and 4.5cm tall.
