This antique box dates from around 1910 and was made in the UK. It features a striking Celtic pattern on the lid and is covered in metal which has been delicately pinned at all edges. The design is a Celtic penannular design so likely Irish or Scottish. Art nouveau. Inside we find a single compartment which also houses the internal musical mechanism. the key crank is housed on the underside and has a very satisfying noise and feel to winding the mechanism up. Great mechanical order. Generally a tidy piece. Age related wear as can be seen. Cannot be locked, however in solid condition. Ready to go!
