An antique Art Nouveau crumb brush, probably manufactured in England during the late Victorian or Edwardian eras (circa 1900–1910). It has a curved Oak base and handle fitted with natural horsehair bristles. The curved spine is clad in a thin sheet of pressed copper, featuring stylized, embossed scrolling foliage characteristic of the Art Nouveau movement. It was originally used to sweep dining tables clean of crumbs between meal courses. It is is antique condition and is now decorative, rather than functional. The horsehair is fragile and the copper is tarnished. 28.5cm long. Please check out my other listings, new items added regularly. Follow me to be alerted to new listings.
