The silver is worked in bold repoussé floral decoration around a thick bevelled mirror plate and sculpted easel back. The silver carries a full Birmingham hallmark for 1906 together with the maker's mark for Lawrence Emanuel, a Birmingham jeweller and silversmith working in the Jewellery Quarter.
