For sale is a nice figurine of a cherub standing on a base made by Bow around the mid 18th century . He is nicely modeled with a flower garland sash with a dog by his side and a quiver full of arrows by his knees. The back has a superb bocage (basically a flower tree) to it. The base is nicely modeled and highlighted with turquoise and puce as well as some gilding. The flowers are very nice and detailed and considering they were all done by hand - if I did it it would pretty lousy!! There is a bird hidden among the flowers of the tree. The figurine displays nicely but as is most often the case there are restorations to the tree as well as the hands/arm of the figurine. The flowers and leaves are in good shape generally speaking but the very center top ones are a replacement which blend in.
