A fantastically sculptural 18th century blacksmith made wrought iron candle holder, formed of three bars hammered together under heat but left to form a tripod base at the bottom, and with a rolled socket at the top. An ingenious, and surprisingly modern looking piece of primitive design from the workshop of a country blacksmith. 18th century, English or Welsh. H 45 cm x W 16 cm.
