Ancient hanging fly of Lombard manufacture dating back to the 1910s/1920s. The Moscarola or Moscaiola is an ancestor of the refrigerator, very common in all homes until the mid-20th century. Food such as cheese, bread or sweets and flours were placed inside and remained protected from insects thanks to a mosquito net. The example offered for sale here is rare due to its considerable size which suggests it was in use in a large residence inhabited by several people. The piece of furniture is completely original and well preserved, it is made of beige lacquered solid wood.
