A silver Hanoverian spoon by the 2nd generation Huguenot silversmith John Hugh Le Sage. The spoon is stamped with JS (image 6) - this mark was used around 1739 - 1747. There is another very faded stamp, (image 7) which would appear to be the leg and paw of a lion.
