Martineau introduces his eldest sister’s grandson, Francis Martineau Lupton (1848-1921), who, having graduated at Trinity Cambridge is about to tour the United States and Canada. Martineau asks Wiley for “anything [he] can show him of your marvellous city, I shall regard myself as seeing through his eyes.”.
