Antique Millinery Egg, Ruffle or Milliners Iron on a weighted based stand, circa 1885. The Egg Iron was heated & used to smooth & shape fabric & ribbons for ladies' hats. Particularly useful as fashions changed regularly, requiring hats to be re-worked & remodelled instead of replaced.
