19th Century Antique wine bottle corker, primitive cork inserter

Rare antique wooden corker, used to insert cork stoppers to wine bottles. Italy, mid 1800s. Entirely handmade of turned wood, the inner part is coated in tin to allow the cork to slide. How it worked: you opened it, inserted the cork, put it on the neck of the bottle and pushed. A rare piece of history of winemakers' work in the countryside of Piedmont, in northern Italy. In original antique condition with genuine patina.
