This mid 19th century French grape picking hopper is in lovely condition. It has a traditional design and pattern which is hand beaten and hand made copper rivets with a brass collar band to the base for extra strength. They were worn strapped to the back by leather harness, mainly women and when they needed to empty it they leaned forward and the harvested grapes fell out. it stands 33 inches tall at the back, 24 inches high at the lower rim and approx 16 inches wide. we have enjoyed it for 25 years as a log bin but moving to a small property without an open fire forces a reluctant sale. It will be properly packed in a tall box for delivery. It is in unusually good condition
