This listing is for a beautiful antique Aesthetic circa 1890's all original silver plate and glass pickle castor with uranium glass insert by Middletown Plate Co. The caddy is 11 1/2 inches high, and is 4 inches in diameter across the base. The vaseline glass insert is 4 1/4 inches high and is 3 inches in diameter across the bottom, the tongs are 7 inches long. This fine silver plate caddy features a round base with vertical ribbed pattern, the top of the caddy (the handle) has an ornate open work design with flowers, medallions and intricate line work. The tongs are decorated in a similar manor. The glass jar is uranium or vaseline glass and does glow under a black light. The glass has a raised diamond pattern with a starburst on the bottom. The silver plate is marked on verso "MIDDLETOWN PLATE CO.
