Two antique penmanship books. The first is the larger book with laid paper cover and trwenty two single side decorated pages which are full with poems, colored titles and fancy script. The book belonged to Catherine Taber dated 1816. This book came out a Rhode Island home, I have owned it for over 30 years. The Taber's are a very well known family from Rhode Island and lived on the East Side of Providence and even have a street named after them. The smaller book with a moire paper design cover belonging to John A. Round of North Foster, Rhode Island dated 1867. It is filled with sixteen double sided decorated pages of sentence penmanship with a folksy drawing of a lady inside back cover.
